Sekta enters the life of a college student whose best friend, having suffered the loss of a close relative, has fallen into grief and despair. Worried about his friend, he begins to check up on him, and soon finds himself obsessed, discovering that his friend has a strange obsession with a small cult. As he investigates further, he begins to question the sanity of his friend, as well as his own sanity.
